| What is the difference between Inserts, Soakers, Doublers and Liners?
Diaper Inserts are designed as the absorbent material in any pocket cloth diaper such as Fuzzi Bunz, bumGenius, Happy Heinys, Apple Cheeks and Baby Kangas. Please note that the purchase of either Fuzzi Bunz, bumGenius or Happy Heinys cloth diapers includes a standard insert.
Diaper Soakers are similar to inserts, in that they too form the main absorbent component of the diaper, but they are meant to be laid directly on top of a diaper cover, instead of tucked within a pocket. At Cozy Bums, we carry both cloth (reusable) soakers as well as single-use (compostable/biodegradable/flushable) soakers.
Diaper Doublers are used with an insert to boost the absorbency of any diaper for heavy wetters and night-time diapering.
Diaper Liners are laid on top of any cloth diaper, next to baby's skin, and are used for a variety of purposes. Flushable/disposable liners are used for convenience with poop removal (just lift the liner and flush!). Microfleece liners are used with fitted and prefold diapers to wick moisture away from baby and into the diaper. Both types of liner can also be used to protect your cloth diapers from diaper cream build-ups (if and when diaper creams are used). |
